Maxine Feldman recorded the first openly lesbian 45, "Angry Atthis," in 1972, which she wrote 3 years earlier.
Robin Tyler produced the record and she and her comedy partner, Patty Harrison, took her on their tour for over a year, doing their warm-up act. Right, that historic first 45, And below, two festival Photos from 1977.

Yer Girlfriend

The group Yer Girlfriend, above, was comprised of Carol Kraemer, Laura Shine, Kathy Weisbach, Patty O. Veranda, & Phyllis Free. They released three fine CDs from 1989 through 1995, and their 1992 "L-Word Spoken Here" CD included a tribute to Maxine Feldman, by doing her song "Angry Atthis"

Just found another pic of Maxine...bought a batch of lesbian albums from the early 80s this month (Jan 2005) and among them was a collection of solo performances by Mimi Jones, Sherry Pedone, Deb Huston and Julie Woods, on Rebecca Records, Watertown, MA, 1982...but the neat part was the pic of the producers, Maxine Feldman and Karen Kane. (photo by Barbara Hadden). For those who don't know of Karen Kane, she's engineer extraordinaire, having produced albums by a large who's who of lesbian performers.
