Sandy Baron:

Sandy Baron was not gay, but his recording was certainly a very early gay comedy album, released in 1972. He died on January 28, 2001.

Note: (July 2007) I received an interesting email from a site visitor, from the "almost-niece" of Sandy Baron, with this very welcome insight:

Hello, I was doing a search for my almost-uncle who died a few years ago, and I saw him listed on your site. His name is Sandy Baron, and on your site you state that you weren't able to confirm if he was gay or not. I just wanted to let you know that he definitely is not. He dated my aunt for several years when I was a young child and was a very big part of our family. He got me into black and white photography as a baby. He and my aunt were engaged for a short time, and my aunt broke off the engagement. I'm not sure why, but when I told her about the site you have for him she just laughed and said "If Sandy was anything, he was NOT gay."
